3. Specifically refers to computer analysis mostly in an offline manner

Example: Use of some downloadable biological software for biological data analysis

Web lab (web based analysis)

1. Web lab or Web laboratories are laboratories that involves web based analysis of biological data

2. It refers to the use of online computer programs or software

3. Specifically refers to web based analysis of biological data

Example: Use of online tool BLAST* for nucleotide sequence comparison

*Basic local alignment search tool (BLAST): is an online nucleotide or protein sequence comparison and analysis tool provided by NCBI (National Centre for Biotechnology information)
