Difference Between Adsorption and Absorption

Adsorption
1. It is a surface phenomenon
2. It involves unequal distribution of the molecular species in bulk and at the surface.
3. It is rapid in the beginning and slows down near the equilibrium.
Absorption
1. It occurs throughout the body of the material
2. It involves uniform distribution of the molecular species
3. It occurs at a uniform rate
